Field Education

Because value and skill must be integrated in order for students to gain professional practice knowledge and experience, field education is an integral part of the educational program in the School of Social Welfare.

We typically place 325 students assigned to 300 different Field Instructors, throughout Kansas and parts of Missouri. All of this work is voluntary on the part of agencies and field instructors who have a commitment to the profession and enjoy the vitality and energy that students bring to their learning. Without all of these agencies and field instructors, the Field Education Program at the University of Kansas could not exist. We thank you!
