2.  To Graduate

 

Application For Degree (AFD):  Prospective degree candidates for the M.S.W. degree can now submit a formal application for degree on-line.  Go to https://sa.ku.edu/  and navigate as follows:

           Enroll & Pay > Learner Services > Academics > Apply for Graduation  

Choose your graduation term and follow the instructions.
This step must be taken to initiate the graduation process with the University.

Submission deadline for:  December graduates is November 15  
                                                May graduates is March 1
                                                August graduates is July 1st

If your graduation date changes, you MUST go on-line to re-submit form.

3. Hooding/Graduation Ceremony and Diploma

Diplomas are available from the Registrar approximately 2 months after graduation. 
To have your diploma mailed to you, go to http://www.registrar.ku.edu/directory/geninfo.shtml#degreeverify  . 
Edwards campus students can have their diplomas delivered to the Edwards campus by notifying Lisa Browning at lbrownin@ku.edu.

Information (also found in your student handbook):

MSW Hooding Tickets will be passed out in April in the Practice and Social Work Administration Selective classes.   If you are not enrolled in one of these classes, please contact Melanie Hepburn at melanieh@ku.edu  to obtain your tickets.  There will be “swap” boxes by the student mailboxes on each campus for students to put extra tickets and/or to pick up extra tickets (if there are any).

Graduation regalia should be purchased at the KU Bookstore as early as possible in February/March (so you can have size choices and not just what is left). Black tassel for MSW students.
