About US
For
over 50 years, the University of Kansas School of Social Welfare has linked the
long-standing social work tradition of responding to the most vulnerable with
dynamic new approaches to the ever-changing face of human need.
The School's development of the Strengths Perspective has had national and
international influence in refocusing social work practice on people's talents,
abilities, and aspirations, instead of their problems and deficits. The
Strengths Perspective stands as just one example of the faculty's dedication to
an educational process that prepares students with the skill, compassion, and
commitment necessary for good social work practice.
