Important Dates for MSW Applicants

Applicants are encouraged to apply as early as possible.

  • September 1: Revised Application available on web site to view or print.
  • October 1: On-line MSW Application process opens and MSW Admissions Office begins accepting applications each year
  • December 1: Application fee will be waived IF a totally complete application packet is submitted. NOTE: this is not possible for current students as your transcripts must show your fall semester grades.
  • January 1: Begin submitting FAFSA applications.
  • January 15: Deadline for “Advanced Standing MSW” and/or “Both” applications
  • February 15: Deadline for “Regular MSW” (full-time and part-time) applications
  • NOTE: If application deadline falls on a Sunday or an official federal holiday, applications will be accepted on the next regular business day.
  • February 15: All FAFSA applications should be submitted by now.
  • March 4: All Advanced Standing decision letters should be mailed by now.
  • March 13, 2008: Acceptance of Advanced Standing offer of admission should be submitted.
  • April 4, 2008: Advanced Standing MSW New Student Orientation will be held.
  • April 15: Deadline for School of Social Welfare scholarship applications (these application forms are available when students are offered admission to our program).
  • April 15: Deadline for SSW need based aid application.
  • April 30: All Regular MSW decision letters should be mailed.
  • May 2, 2008: Acceptance of Regular MSW offer of admission should be submitted.
  • June: Regular MSW NEW Student Orientation held.
  • June 13, 2008 Edwards campus, Regnier Hall Auditorium,
  • June 20, 2008 Lawrence campus, Courtside Room, Burge Union

Fall Semester 2007

  • August 13 Monday. Orientation.
  • August 16 Thursday. Classes begin.
  • September 3 Monday. Labor Day holiday. No classes.
  • October 11 Thursday. Fall recess begins.
  • October 15 Monday. Classes resume.
  • November 21 Wednesday. Thanksgiving recess begins.
  • November 26 Monday. Classes resume.
  • November 30 Friday. Last day of classes at the School of Law.
  • December 1 Saturday. Reading day.
  • December 3 Monday. Semester examinations begin.
  • December 14 Friday. Semester examinations end.
  • December 15 Saturday. Recess begins.

 

Spring Semester 2008 (Dates tentative)

  • January 17 Thursday. Classes begin.
  • January 21 Monday. Martin Luther King Day. No classes.
  • March 15 Saturday. Spring recess begins.
  • March 24 Monday. Classes resume.
  • May 1 Thursday. Last day of classes at the School of Law.
  • May 2 Friday. Reading day.
  • May 3 Saturday. First day of final exams.
  • May 16 Friday. Last day of final exams.
  • May 18 Sunday. Commencement.
